Michael Jackson was "different". No one can deny
that. It is undone
to compare him with a neighbour. But that is not strange for someone
who had
always been in the spotlights since the age of five. Who worked with
the
biggest artists of all time. Whose
fame came in the same time when Elvis
Presley hit the records. Someone who has a nameawareness of 90 percent
worldwide! With every step he took outside he was always followed by
the press,
cameras and his fans. Doing groceries was unthinkable, washing the car
outside
his door neither, going to the beach was never possible, even when he
would go
to Antarctica he still would be followed. What to think about people,
who spy
on you through the airshafts in
hotels, who watch you under the door when you
go for a bathroom or who break into your bedroom and lay in your bed.
All this
has been a daily ritual for this man for the past forty-five
years!
In history or in modern
times
there is no one who had a similar experience like
Michael Jackson had. Even kings and queens nog. Maybe Lady Di but she
was
19 when she got in contact with Prince Charles. Her childhood
was
free,
not in the eye of the public. Most young royalties are being protected
by their
family or staff for the press and the public eye. When they
get in
contact
with the public they are most of the time in their twenties, when they
are
grown up and can handle the exposure themself. People like the Beatles,
Rolling
Stones, Elvis Presley and Madonna got to deal with this kind of
exposure when
they where 15 years or older. At this age (around 1973)
Michael
Jackson
was already worldfamous through the Jackson Five, he owned alreay his
own Rolls
Royce!
The
Person behind the Artist
Who was Michael Jackson as a person? Even though I never met him or
talked to
him personally, I know he was a man with a very genuine, warm, friendly
heart
and character. Someone who was cautious in what he did but
he was
also a
very shy man. It was a man who really thought about others. Always
wanted to
give the poor the wealth which he had known for many years and where he
lived
in. Michael Jackson was a very spiritual man and had a great belief
in God. He truly believed
that his talents were a gift from God and that he was the instrument.
He
felt very fortunate that he could do what he loved most, to
enjoy
others.
He liked to meditate and to enjoy the peace of nature; he loved to
spend time
in his special tree “The
Giving
Tree”. In this tree he
also got inspiration for
his songs. Some of his most beautiful songs, like Earth Song and
Childhood,
have been created in this tree.
Further
he was a man with a great passion for culture, art, theatre, movies and
books. Eventhough he had his own numerous of fans, he himself
was
also a great
admirer
of Michelangelo, Tchaikovsky, Leonardo da Vinci,
Claude Debussy, Fred Astaire,
Gene Kelly, Charlie Chaplin, Walt Disney and many others. He loved to
visit
museums, plays, auctions, cinema's and shops.
But one of his most beautiful parts of him was his sense of
humour. He
loved to
joke around and would laugh hard about it! He had the best times when
he could
bring others the creeps by putting a bucket of water above a door. He
also knew
what to do with a pillow, a can of whipped cream, water pistols and a
rollercoaster! No problem he knew always a good target..
